How many MSYS2 are there in your Comouter?¶
If you use Windows for developing, you may find that git for Windows uses MSYS2` as its base.
For Jekyll blogger like me, they will find that ruby for Windows, which is essential for Jekyll, is also based on MSYS2.
What’s more, I installed another MSYS2 to use MinGW, which means there are totally three MSYS2 in my computer.
The situation described above reminds me of the abouse of chromium intergration.
There is always a chromium behind an application¶
(Note that in this topic application refers to programme that installed in smartphone.)
It is mostly TRUE at least in my country, where some companies like to use html, css and js to speed up the development and cut down their cost to publish an app. I agree that this way could help many people develop their cool apps, however, intergrating chromium respectively in every apps takes tons of disk space to store. One chromium engine takes at least 120 MB and we have at least 12 apps that intergrated a chromium. So we finally find that our chromium-intergrated application wasted (12-1)*120MB=1320MB disk space at least. Somebody may say: “But the minimum storage of modern smartphone is 128GB(maybe 256GB), which could contain 10922 chromiums.”
But I would say: “Yes, and NO.”
The truth is that the number of programmes intergrated by application is much more beyond your imagination.
There is not only the abouse of chromium intergration, but also the abouse of Unreal Engine intergration especially when an app would like an ability to host mini-programme(like WeChat mini-programme).
Thanks to the help of these programme, we are now shorter of storage when the technique of storing data are developing rapidly.
